This was the single from the album "SOUL MATE", released from Sony Records in 1995 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the group. The song was covered by Masayuki Suzuki in 1991. Another song on this vinyl is "DOWN TOWN". This was originally written for The King Tone's 15th anniversary album, but it did not get on the album. Enjoy the gems of chorus that will not fade away.

Side-B
DOWN TOWN
Lyrics: Ginji Itou Music: Tatsuro Yamashita Arranged by: Kunio Muramatsu

[Comments from Masahiro Suzuki]
The King Tones is Japan's first R&B vocal group.
It was the summer of my first year in junior high school, I fell in love with "Good Night Baby".
7 years later, Eiichi Ohtaki's "Itsumo Muchuu" from the album "Niagara Moon" was released, and this was Japan's first original a cappella!!
Then 3 years later the stage with The King Tones and Marie. That was the moment when I fell for it.
"LET'S DANCE BABY" written by Tatsuro-san showed their range of music.
After the stage, I had the opportunity to speak with the leader Uchida-san, and I told him "I'm also doing DOO WOP with my group. My dream is to be on the stage with The King Tones."
And my dream came true 3 years later, we were on the same stage at the first "Doo Wop Carnival".
At the dressing room Uchida-san said to me laughing "You really came!", and I still remember that smile on his face.
"Yume no Naka de Aeru deshou"
This song speaks for 21-year-old Masayuki Suzuki, who wished to meet the group someday on the same stage.

With love and respect.

Vocalist Masayuki Suzuki

[Comments from Hiroshi Takano]
I have a strong feeling for "Yume no Naka de Aerudeshou".
This song was originally written for The King Tones, and Uchida-san's voice leads the melody.
The chord at the intro is also a homage to "DOWN TOWN".
For the first time in a quarter of a century since the original, I listened to these two songs on vinyl and it was exceptional.
I'm sure Uchida-san in heaven is pleased as well.

32 years since the last vinyl release. Machiko Watanabe's blockbuster "Kuchibiru yo Atsuku Kimi wo Katare" on 7-inch vinyl!

Machiko Watanabe was born in Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture. She made her debut in 1977 with "Mayoi Michi". Back in the time it was a widely shared thought within the music industry that "singer-songwriters do not make appearance in TV programs and they don't perform on TV". She overturned that image by actively making appearances in music programs. Her single "Kamome ga Tonda Hi" released in April 1978 was a big hit. "Kuchibiru yo Atsuku Kimi wo Katare" (January 1980) was used for Kanebo Cosmetics' commercial, and 40 years later, the song was a huge topic in 2020 once again because it was covered in Kanebo's TV commercial "I HOPE.". Releasing numerous hit songs that remains in Japanese pop scenes, Machiko Watanabe is an artist with outstanding singing skills who can convey deep emotions, and her impressive lyrics and the melody will remain in people's heart. She won Best New Artist Award from Japan Record Award, and 13 other awards.
Machiko Watanabe expands her talents in jazz, Latin, rock, and classic arrangements, proving that she has range and not tied to one genre. With the expressiveness that only adults can create, she actively continues to perform in concerts and shows her best performance. In February 2019, she was a guest performer in "Miyuki Nakajima Night Party VOL. 20 ~Little Tokyo~".
In July 2020, she released an album "Asu he". As for vinyl, it's been 32 years since the last vinyl release.

I never had a vinyl and it was my dream, so I am deeply touched! Even if I listen to it now, it doesn't feel old at all. Also, I was surprised that I was singing such a difficult song at the age of 16. This album was the reason I started voice actress. The style that was popular back then and popular today is played on this vinyl!

Masayuki Ishii is a producer and a supporting guitarist for many artists such as CHEMISTRY, Hanaregumi, Kyoko Koizumi, and Ohashi Trio. He joined the band THE CHANG, and with Gota Yashiki as the producer, THE CHANG debuted in 1995 with the single "Kyo no Ame ha Iiame da" and the album "DAY OFF". Their music has the essence of soul, blues, acid jazz, AOR, etc. It was the era when the boudary of Japanese music and Wester music was starting to get vague.
It is surprising to know that the style that was popular back then and popular today is played in their music. Try listening side by side with the latest popular tune, you would know that the sounds by THE CHANG is not old and it is not overwhelmed by the new sounds at all.
Their lyrics are simple and clear, it speaks about being tired but has bright feeling at the same time. Lyrics strongly draws the listener, and the song itself hasn't faded at all.

I listen to the lyrics and performances now, they are so crude, straightforward, and concise, which made me surprised once again.
I still hum the song, which is rare for my own songs."
